Maggie Atkins of Atkins Family Sugarhouse and a Washington, NH Firefighter/EMT is currently undergoing dialysis and raising funds for a kidney transplant.
Maggie has battled and survived ANCA-positive Kidney Vasculitis for more than half her life. As she has strived to live a full life, her battle has not left her unscathed. Her kidneys bore the brunt of the disease, having been left scarred. She has now been informed that her kidneys are failing and she is in urgent need of a new kidney.
Maggie has used her own story as motivation in her professional life to help people prepare for their own major medical events and procedures. Maggie is still continuing to respond to calls when she’s not working and she will continue to do so for as long as she’s able. For those that know Maggie, you know how this persistence speaks to her personality.
