Please stay tuned for information on Maple Syrup Sunday 2021. We will be updating our plans on our website, so stay in touch!
We started sugaring by lugging buckets and cooking sap over a fire at our small cabin, off of the grid with no running water or electricity. Eventually we invested the adjacent land, milled up some hemlock posts and beams from those woods and built a sugar house on the site and established Sap Hound Maple Co. in 2015. Ourselves and our maple loving dog, Manny, have about 2000 taps in Brownfield on the Maine-New Hampshire border. In 2018, we expanded to a second sugar house and operation, in the cold snowy mountains of Grafton Notch (on the Maine-NH border). Currently we tend about 14,000 taps in total and love to spend our days in the woods and nights around the evaporator.
We sell our maple syrup online and locally through online delivery. We also have a make-shift stop by “maple cabinet” in our lower lot to accommodate contact free pick up in Brownfield.
We love working with chefs, restaurants, cafes, bakeries and local food producers to provide our maple syrup as an ingredient in their delicious food!
