The four Van Velsor Brothers (Wes, Nic, Jake and Nate) grew up helping their grandparents, Morris and Marj Putnam, at their sugar house in south Charlestown, NH in everything from tapping and gathering to selling the finished product. Since those great years, we took our love for sugaring and started our own sugar house in Langdon, NH. We began boiling on a 55 gallon barrel in Charlestown, NH in 2013 then built our sugar house in Langdon and moved to a 2 x 4 flat pan arch in 2014, making about 20 gallons a year. In 2018 we upgraded to a new 2 x 6 arch to keep up with the growing number of taps. In 2019 we moved to our current location of 92 River Road in Charlestown, NH. We still use wood for fuel and we plan on continuing that as long as we can.
We welcome visitors anytime we’re boiling so if you see steam, come on in! You can also give us a call at (603) 312-4967 to see when we’ll be open next.
